Can%26#39;t help you with A Dong - but we were in Hoi An 4 months ago and had wonderful men%26#39;s tailored suit and shirts made at what seemed to us an unbelievably reasonable price. We used Thang Loi fashion. They have a website www.thangloi-hoian.com
Measurements were taken most carefully, fabric and style thoroughly discussed and considered. We paid up front as this is a big operation. And clothes and all other goods we bought there, including beautiful tableclothes were delivered as promised at a time to suit us next day at our hotel.
Although there was no %26#39;fitting%26#39; session, the person who delivered the stuff waited while we went to the room to check the purchases. And everything was absolutely perfect, and the workmanship, superb.
When in Hoi An you will see tailor shops next to one another, ranging from a hole in the wall to more substantial establishments. Thang Loi is one of the latter.
A Dong Silk in Hoi An are here....

I had some trousers made and are all OK. Just don%26#39;t get sucked in by the sales girls getting you to buy more.

We used Tony the Tailor in February. Lovely man and very good quality work.
His email address is www.tonythetailor.net
Worsnop....WE had a few things made in Hoi An. WE found the simple rule is that you get what you pay for, like anywhere else. We used I think the shop called Yarley, which is among the best-known of them, and paid more there than in other lesser known shops. However, on return to Australia, it was apparent that the Yarley stuff was of superior quality and was about twice the price. I guess it comes down to the fabrics. AT Yarley they were better and more expensive, so I guess the Vietnamese too have to pay more for the better quality cloth. So my summary is that cheaper is not necessarily better, but with the better quality fabrics you can get a very good deal in Hoi An. I also loved the town. Regards
We have just come home after a trip to Vietnam. I must recommend BLUE tailor shop. They made me an evening gown in vietnamese silk, for my daughters wedding in May,and it is very beautiful. They made Jeans for me, but with high waste, so nothing falls out:)
They made: 4 pairs of Jeans, 4 skirts, 4 pairs of shorts. They can make everything. They give advise, what to choose and they are so sweet. While we were there I recommended the shop to others, and everybody were very happy.
Add: 56 Tran Hung Dao St.
may i know how much they charge lets say for a skirt? rougly? so i can estimate how much money i should bring
I paid 15$ for a simple short summer skirt. Perhaps you will have to pay more if the skirt is more complicated. I did not argue about the price. The fitting was superb.
Best wishes, and bring clothes you want similar. Next time i will bring all the clothes I love. Say hell to Blue from Vivian.
