My whole family will go to Hanoi in mid of May.

I haven%26#39;t done much research yet, not sure where to stay. Any recommendations?

we will visit halong bay, that will take us 2 days right?

Where else can we go for the remaining 1 day +?

Hoalu - Tamcoc is the trip for the remaining day and full day city tour in Hanoi.

Its depend on your budget, you can look around some hotel as Hanoi Elegance, Indochina hotel.

Bai Tho Junk or Emotion Junk is high recommend for the trip to Halong

I%26#39;m gonna spend a night at halong bay, is it best to stay at the cruise or at halong bay itself?

I%26#39;ve checked both Bai Tho Junk ($100+) or Emotion Junk (didn%26#39;t see the price), what is the difference between these two?

I%26#39;m visiting Vietnam in May too.

I%26#39;ve booked Elegance 4 which is highly rated and the location is within the Old Quarter area. Any hotel that suits your budget and is located in the Old Quarter is good enough.

I%26#39;ve read that there are many junks available for 2D/1N, overnight on board junk. Some junks can be had for USD45/person up to more than USD200. As for me, I%26#39;m likely to go for the Phoenix Cruiser (USD99/person). Look at the junk%26#39;s itinerary/activities/meals/no. of cabins/aircon etc prior to making your decision on the junk to go with. I would go for a newer junk where possible.

The usual pick-up time is around 8:00am and you return the next day around 5:00pm, so it looks like your Halong Bay tour is likely on 19 May leaving you with the 1st 2 days (17 %26amp; 18 May) in Hanoi itself.
