Looking to go to Vietnam in August for the 1st time.

Have been told we need a visa.

Can anyone give some info on how to obtain one from Australia?

yes you will need a visa. you can get a single entry or multi entry - usually for a month from when you travel. do a search in this forum for %26#39;visa%26#39; and you will find numerous replies.

up to you as to whether you get one from the consulate before you go or get a %26#39;visa on line%26#39;. we did the latter and everything went well but the exchange rate was a little better in August.

sorry should have said we used %26#39;visa on arrival%26#39; which is an on-line (net) service. we used ';http://www.visa-vietnam.org'; and they were no hassles.
