Weather in Jan/Feb

How is the weather at the end of January in Hanoi and Hoi An?To me 20 degrees is perfect but is there much rain about this time of year.

Weather in Jan/Feb

Just got back from central vietnam and the weather was great in DaNang/HoiAn area. About 70-75F during the day and 60-65F at night. Did not need to run the airconditioner. In HCM City it was hot. About 80-85F and had to run the air at night. I was there for a couple of weeks and it did not rain. Normally, in cental vietnam for jan/feb the weather is mostly dry and warm. I think the best time to visit the area is Jan-Apr. From what I understand Hanoi is really cold durin jan/feb but have not been there so do not know for sure.

Hi,

Thanks very much, that really helps a lot.

I think you would find northern Vietnam, like Hanoi and Sapa, very cold during late December and all January. Like around 0-10C in the north and around 20 or so in the central and warmer in the south. By southern California standards quite cold, but maybe not so bad by Cardiff standards. Hope this is useful.

We travelled from Hanoi to Saigon during December/January. Hanoi was quite cool of an evening but very pleasant during the day. As we moved further South the weather warmed quite a lot.

Haoi An was warm enough for swimming and Saigon quite hot. I think the only rain we encounted was NYE at Nha Trang.

We have some pics, maps and stories of our trip here... www.bobandjanette.com which may prove useful.

Happy %26amp; safe travels

We were in Ha Noi and Hoi An in mid to late January last year. We found Hoi An was quite warm and a little humid; we were in tshirts or short sleeved shirts during the day and sometimes a light wrap as well if we were sitting out in the evening. As I recall it was about 25C because the cyclo drivers tried to entice us with cries of ';It%26#39;s too hot to walk!'; and we replied, ';Mate, it was 47C at Christmas at home. This is NOT hot :-)';. There was no rain at all.

In Ha Noi some days were t shirt weather and others were cold enough to want a warm shirt and a jacket. It didn%26#39;t rain but was a little overcast.
