Leaving Saigon

We are leaving Saigon today after 5 nights, just so much to write so will wait until we return home and do trip post.

We were caught in the biggest tropical storm yesterday, drowned!!! but so much fun, ended up sitting at a great place for lunch, (will post those details later)there were no roads just rivers of water but this did not dampen out trip at all, we were like kids playing in puddles.

Also for a Victorian I wish we could see a lot of rain like this at home.

How amazing wading through calf deep water in the middle of Saigon on your 61st (21 again) birthday!!!

Loosing rubber thongs at each corner.

Leaving Saigon

Did you catch a storm in HCMC? How was it?

Thanks

Leaving Saigon

On Saturday it absolutely POURED down in Saigon for about 2 hours. Very unseasonal. Most of the streets turned into rivers for half an hour or so.

Luckily it%26#39;s been dry since, we were concerned the rainy season had come early! But the posting above is a good example of why tourists shouldn%26#39;t be put off by coming to VN during the wet season - the rain can be absolutely spectacular and, provided you%26#39;re settled in a bar or cafe, it%26#39;s good fun watching people driving motorbikes through feet of water :)
