can anyone point me towards a mobile phone dealer in hanoi? hopefully one that has a good reputation. i understand that most VN phone will work in australia.

are the shops you see in the old quarter generally ok to purchase phones from or should i stick to more commercial tourist areas?

Very easy to buy a sim card at any shops in old quater (a lot). Australia phon can use in Vietnam.
