You have it slightly wrong. You can only get visa-on-arrival at airports. A visa can be easily obtained by downloading a form from the Vietnam Embassy in Australia website, filling it in and posting it with the visa payment in a money order(ring or email for the current price, I paid $65 a few months ago but recall someone else saying they paid $75), your passport, two passport photos of yourself and a SASE for the return of your passport. Use Priority Paid or Registered Mail. Takes less than a week to get your passport with visa back from Canberra.

Vietnam visa is a requirement for Business travelers and tourists when they wish to visit Vietnam except citizens of countries having visa exemption inclusion in bilateral consular agreements with Vietnam.

You obtain your entry visa by having a valid passport stamped prior to your departure by applying to any one of the Vietnam Embassies and/or Consulates worldwide. You can also apply for Vietnam Visa online at http://vietnam-visa.com.

You can find further information at Vietnam Visa information and How to apply for Vietnam Visa.

But I notice Vietnam Visa online only applies to those arriving at the airports in Ha Noi, HCMC or Da Nang. So, not good for the original poster. He will have to do as I suggested and apply to the Viet Nam Embassy in Australia by mail.

In this case, you should come to Vietnam Embassy in Phnom Penh to apply for Vietnam Visa. You can find information of Vietnam Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at:
