After our Halong Bay cruise in April we plan to depart on Jetstar from Hai Phong airport instead of returning to Hanoi. Anyone with experience catching taxi, private car etc from Halong Bay to Hai Phong airport.

It is correct, we have Jetstar flights from Cat Bi( Hai phong) airport to Ho Chi Minh, certaintly it will take around two hours driving on 90 km.
You should know what time is your cruise back Bai Chay tourist wharf, because of a few cruises come back at 9.00 or 12.00
Beside that you need your tour guide arrange a private car or call Mai Linh Taxi (033.3628 628 )costs from 500 000- 600 000 dong.
