We%26#39;re planing a tour round Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos July/August, and are wondering how bad the monsoon is there-does it make travelling difficult or is it worth going? My experience of monsoon in Thailand was a couple of hours rain a day which was fine-is it similar in Vietnam?
Also, are there any budget tour groups othere than Intrepid that anyone would reccomend?
Thanks,
Helen
Monsoon and tours
Im planning exactly the same thing...also trying to find out exactly how bad it could be.
I%26#39;ve heard it%26#39;s risky - but a lot of people have said there%26#39;s not a real problem. Apart from the bursts of rain.
Monsoon and tours
Yeah, it would be the same in Thailand, not real big prob and this is an off season for travel in Vietnam, thing will get cheaper.
Hi, doing a similar trip but not until Nov and getting various reports of monsoon vs dry..has anybody been to Sth Vietnam %26amp; Cambodia around Nov??
Nov is generally OK, it%26#39;s the tail end of the rainy season so you%26#39;ll get some rain, but probably not for long %26amp; not every day.
July/August - yes it rains for around an hour per day. As long as you%26#39;ve got waterproofs with you or are near a cafe/bar/vehicle when it starts, it shouldn%26#39;t inconvenience you too much.
