We%26#39;ve had a terrible experience with First Choice Company (www.cruiseshalong.com), who engages in dishonest business practices.
We contacted the First Choice Company to inquire about booking a Halong Bay cruise. We were sent information about various options and quoted their prices. We moved forward with one of the booking options.
After receiving our booking request, we were told that the price increased by about $90. When asked why, we were told that the original price they quoted us was actually for large groups only.
At that point, we canceled the booking and booked an option in our original price range with another company. When we returned home, however, we realized that First Choice Company charged us for the cruise anyway -- 5 days after we told them that we wouldn%26#39;t be booking it! Thankfully, credit cards offer protections against illegitimate practices such as these.
So, buyers beware. Save yourself the hassles and book with a company that offers up-front and honest customer service. Avoid First Choice Company.
Cruise Warning: Don't Book with First Choice Company
So your First Choice should be your Last Choise?
Cruise Warning: Don't Book with First Choice Company
After agreeing to the Paradise Cruise at $289/person on Feb 12, I received an email from Mr. Thanh on Feb 13 informing me that we owed $90 more upon arrival and that the $289 price per person applied to groups of 8 or more -- we would be charged $334/person for the two of us. It is at that point that we informed Mr. Thanh that we would NOT be moving forward with the booking and that we would contact again IF we wanted to book with your company. We did not contact you again because we booked elsewhere.
The problems occurred because Mr. Thanh quoted us an incorrect price for the Paradise Cruise in his Feb 10 email. The error is his.
I have the Feb 13 email in front of me, as well, and I would be happy to forward it to you so you are aware of your employee%26#39;s correspondence with customers. Please let me know how to forward it to you.
