Recommended Hotels

Hi guys,

My wife and i visiting HCMC for 3 nights at the end of March and are currently trying to find a hotel for our visit. We aren%26#39;t looking to spend a huge amount, maybe around 拢20-拢25 per night so not expecting 5* luxury. We are very keen to be in a good location though

Any ideas/recommendations??

Not sure of the current exchange rate but try the Elios Hotel.

I thought it was a good location but that also depends on where you want to be. Newer hotel and very clean.

The wife and I just got back to the states 2 weeks ago. We normally stay at the SaigonPink2 Hotel but the owner has a new place SaigonPink3 that is 1 block off the main drag and is very close to a lot of eating places and a 5 minute walk (I walks slow) to the market. They charged $40@ night for a balcony room and $25 for an inside room. I would rate it a 3*. Will stay there again next February 2010 when we go back.

I went back and looked. I forget the number on the Hotel, but if you are on the corner of Ho Tung Mau and Huynh Thuc Khang you will see it on Ho Tung Mau. It is just around the corner from the Suwah Tower building that has a 1st class restruant in it.

The An An and An An2 hotels on De Tham St.(Distric 1) is right within your budget and is right in the middle of things.

I will vote for Elios hotel as it is the best 3 star hotel in Pham Ngu Lao area( good service, good breakfast,around your budget). All the hotels recommended above is not 3 star.

Enjoyed the Hong Vy 1. Not near the market but an interesting quarter hour walk away. 5 minute walk to the Rex and city sights. In a quiet neighbourhood.

We liked the An An (see my review). It%26#39;s well located in the cafe backpacker district and about 5-10 minutes%26#39; walk to Cho Ben Thanh. It also had a lift, which is not always the case in the cheaper hotels.

I will vote for AnAn - great location, HUGE rooms and about your budget. We paide 36$ for ';penthouse'; 11th floor with magificent view. Great staff and top service.
