Hotel in HCMC

Hello,

I and my husband is going to Saigon a weekend in March. (currently living in Nha Trang)

We haven%26#39;t really agreed on what price-range, but he said the more expencive hotel I get, the less money for other things, so i%26#39;m currently looking for a cheap hotel.

I have been looking on several: hotels: ';Bich Duyen hotel'; and ';blue river hotel';, but I couldent find out if they have any safe room, we really need the safe (been here to long to leave stuff unattended)

I have also been looking at '; metropole saigon hotel';, wich has a pool, and my husband reallt likes to have a pool.

I figured that since we haven%26#39;t really been to Saigon for vacation before, we won%26#39;t spend that much time in the hotel, so i%26#39;m not paying several thousands of dollars for a hotel rom. ( that won%26#39;t by my shoes ) So i figured that the metropole is a good choise for both me, and my husband.

I have read all of the rewievs, but its so hard to choose one, so i%26#39;m now seeking your advice.

PS:And one more thing, is the safes big enough for two laptops?

Hi BuseBoms

We have just stayed at the Elios and found it fantastic not over the top price wise a great breakfast and the staff are really good, we did have a room with a window and the safe you set your own pin number, we have moved to Hanoi and the hotel provided a key for the safe, guess what we wont use the safe after reading other posts.

From the Elios window you look over a lovely park and we walked everywhere, nothing was too far away

We just came back and stayed at the Brand New Saigon Pink 3 Hotel at 100 Ho Tung St 84-8-39144357. The smaller rooms are $25 and the big with big bath rooms and balcony are $45. It is close to everything but quiet as it is one block of the main drive.

Highly recommended.

Hi Jax,

Would love you to do a report on your time in Vietnam - also, the new hotel sounds great - do you know if they have a website yet, or email address?

We have already organised our hotel, but it sounds a great value hotel, if our plans change.

Many thanks,

Sandy

Hello frekl48,

Thank you for recommending elios hotel, I looked at their website, and I think it looks kind of expencive, compared to ';the metropole';, wich has a swimming pool, but it looks very nice. And its now one of our favorites. May I ask how much you paid for your room?

Jaxfl1;

I%26#39;ll check out the saigon pink hotels. Thank you.

Also, I forgot too say that we like a hotel in quan 1 (district 1)

Elios hotel has good location in the district 1, safe and friendly staff, we have to pay only US$55 for DBL, but we booked our service through the travel agent.

SandyL.

No website yet. email is: saigonpink3@yahoo.com.vn

At one end of the street is an big Vietnamese meat type of market were you can get sandwichs, soups, bread, meats and whetever. Less than 100 yards the other way is a ALMOST AMERICAN resturant in the SUN WAH TOWERS BUILDING on Nguyen Hue Ave. One block over is a large street market with about anything you could want. Across from the hotel is a small coffee shop that I went to for my morning fix.
