Tax 5% or 10% on hotel nights?

Have they changed the tax from 10% to 5%?

Tax 5% or 10% on hotel nights?

Dear Fritiof

The hotel will charge you 5 % for Service charge and 10 % for VAT tax. You will pay extra 15 %

Please make sure your room rate is nett ( all included) or ++ ( you will pay 15 % more)

Like 99 ++ at The Renaissance Riverside 5 star hotel : You will pay 99 USD x 1.155 ( 15% Tax ) = 114.345 USD nett

Like 41 USD nett at the Ha Hien hotel, you just pay 41 USD

Hope that makes you clear

Yes I believe the tax has changed to 5% tax (formerly 10%), which means most hotels will now be adding 10% (tax + service) instead of the former 15%.

Dear Purves_Grundy

I have just called the Renaissane riverside hotel ( 083.823 8872) to double check this information. The staff answered me 99 USD ++ ( it means 10 % tax and 5 % service charge )

Please double check

Best regards

Dear Fritiof,

There are some hotels keep 10% VAT, but almost now is 5% as government policy

Just double check

Have a good trip. Dent

Thanks!

VAT is now 5.25%

The government has now officially cut the hotel VAT from 10% to 5% to boost tourism, so check your hotel quotes/bills!
