Advice for first visit

Hi,

We%26#39;re considering a trip to Vietnam in Nov, following a few days in HKG.

We%26#39;d be looking at it for a beach stay more than anything, but would like to also be able to see/experience some of the real Vietnam.

Can anyone recommend where%26#39;s the best area for us to stay? I%26#39;ve read about a few of the beaches but still can%26#39;t decide.

Advice for first visit

I guess it depends on how long your going to be in Vietnam for as to recommendations. If you want just one destination I would suggest Hoi An in central Vietnam for a good mix of culture, great food and shopping and quite a nice beach, Also the city of Hue is a short distance away and another very good site with plenty of history.
