Hai scout in Nguyen Thai Hoc Street is a good place for meals, also a cooking class happens in the afternoon.

Im not being snarky, but if you do a search using the little search box just at the top of the forum you will find lots of threads with dozens of great suggestions. This is a topic that comes up fairly often.

So the foodie is correct, but my advice is Mango rooms for a ';good'; meal, its expensive but lovely. Tam Tam is cool for a drink.

There are a few bars around but not a massive night scene.

We loved Morning Glory, it is near Japanese Bridge. It was very reasonably priced and food was absolutely delicious. It was nice to be able to try %26#39;proper%26#39; Vietnamese food as many restayrants for tourists serve very westernised food. Try their chicken curry for main course and Vietnamese pancake with pork and shrimp for a starter - stunning. If you fancy a dessert you will be better off in their sister restaurant %26#39;Cargo%26#39; which is near by.

Hi, My partner and I had the best meals in a months visit in 2008 at Mango Mango, right on the river looking across to the Japanese Bridge, Great Cocktails.

Ditto Morning Glory. Cargo, their sister restaurant is also very good (more expensive). Slow service, but good food at Tam Tam. Small portions (more like bar food/atmosphere) at Cafe 96. Would loved to have tried more restaurants...the food was very good in Hoi An! Enjoy!

If you want to be on the beach enjoying a restaurant and bar then you will want to go to the beach club. Great inside or outside dining and at night this is the only place that has any real night life. They have 2 pool tables and music for dancing ect. Alot of tourist go there for this. Very tame and relaxing plus the food was fantastic. Enjoyed there beach front for safe ocean swimming and they provide beach towels at a low cost. Just a couple hawkers selling stuff and were not pushy.
