Need Itinerary Help Siem Reap to Cantho & Halong ?

HI Vietnam Travelers,

My husband and I will be traveling in a couple weeks to Cambodia and Vietnam. Given the time of year and short amt of time- looking for some help on the intineray.

We will be staying Siem Reap for a 2-3 days

From there we would like to explore a floating market in Vietnam and experience a house stay.

Given our time we want to maximize our traveling so, thought:

Fly from Siem Reap to HCMC- Bus to Vhin Long - 1 NT Homestay

Next day- by car or bus? to Cantho- explore during day stay in hotel- in early morning do floating market then bus back to HCMC.

Wondering would be better to fly SR to PP and crusie to Cantho somehow? Bus back to HCMC with our 1nt stay in Vinh long? Anyone done the route from Cambodia to Vietnam. I keep reading of folks who do Viet-to Cambodia but not the revers?

Also at very end of March- due to weather is a 1 NT stay 2 day cruise on Halong Bay worthwile?

Thanks a million in advance. We appreciate any links, agency advice etc...

Seems like you are doing an awful lot of travelling to include a very short Mekong experience.

If you are really short on time I would fly from Siem Reap to Hanoi. Use the time that you have saved to see Hanoi and Ninh Binh (2hrs by bus or train) before doing your Halong Bay trip. Weather should be fine end of March.

We have some pics and stories of our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam here... www.bobandjanette.com which may prove useful.

Happy %26amp; safe travels

Thanks for tips. I left out the central Vietnam portion we are in Vietnam 13 days. Beginning in HCMC and Ending in Hanoi.

I really want to see the floating market in Can Tho and just didn%26#39;t know how to go about it most efficently - hire a car or do the 4 hr bus deal?

Figured if I had to travel 4 hours would it be more enjoyable by boat and cheaper than the flight from SR to HCMC?
