ET Pumpkin tour to Sapa - good train?

Oh my god! Sapa. The most expensive one is Victoria train, but i heard that you must stay at their resort in sapa if you want to book the train ticket.

Other companies provide train tickets to Sapa are Tulico, TSC, King express. My friend in Hanoi booked for me with TSC, they were very nice with wooden cabin, soft sleeper, they also had flower and water for you in your cabin.

But I think Pumkin is also fine, because they provide the same standard as they are in the same price, my friend said, she is working in a tour company too.

ET Pumpkin tour to Sapa - good train?

well i ended up booking king express

Hello,

I am going to Sapa in May and wondered what you thought of the ttrain company you used - King Express. We are also looking at Pumpkin train.

If you have any tips about Sapa we would like to hear them!

Thank you

Hi,

Got to say the pics of the cabins look pretty good on the ET-Pumpkin website.

Can anyone tell me if these trains have some 2 berth cabins? or are they 4 birth cabins only?

Thanks heaps.

Almost all of them: Tulico, King Express, Et pumpkin, TSC, Livitran... offer similar train. Tulico new carriage offer bigger cabin than others. I would stay with Tulico or ET pumpkin first class (wooden wall cabin) because they are more professional and less double book problem. Also, the delivery system is better and you are given the right ticket you book. King Express has some very good carriage, some not. So make sure that you book Deluxe ticket, otherwise bad train.

Thanks HongDao.

Do you know if you can get a 2 berth cabin?

Yes, a few carriages has two beds cabin that called VIP cabin. Tulico (First class); King Express; Et Pumpkin and Fansipan have one cabin/carrage. They are actually double priced than the 4 bed cabin so if you want a private cabin while the VIP cabin are fully booked, buy 4 beds in aprivate cabin.

I think you will find the King Train and the Tuilico Train are actually just the names of the carriages and they are all pulled by the same engine.....

All leave at the same time and arrive at the same time. The Victoria is a train by itself and yes you do have to stay at the Victoria Hotel to use it. It only runs a couple of times a week I believe. The alternative is the Livitrain which has only just come into service, and runs during the day time I think.

I personally travelled with the Friendly ';Train'; which I found alright. It also has just been done up. Had a VIP cabin, for 2 persons only. They have western toilets each end of carriage (take toilet paper) and a open bathroom for cleaning your teeth etc. From what I have gathered, most carriages seem to be set up much the same.

Enjoy your trips.

Hi!

Does anyone know if the cabins have locks? And is it worth it to buy up all four beds for a private cabin? We have three persons. Thanks

HI

ET Pumpkin is tourist train, about same service as TSC and Tolico or Ratraco.

Abit better is fanxipan and livitrans, much better and expensive is victoria but this train is only for victoria clients.

Best regards
