Which Hotel To Choose?

Hi All,

Cua Dai Hotel, Life resort and Ancient House Resort.

Can%26#39;t decide which hotel to choose, any feedback much appreciated.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Which Hotel To Choose?

Honey, I%26#39;ve said this before, but if you%26#39;re not going until June next year, in that 18 months no doubt new places will be built, old places will be renovated and currently good places may well change hands or become run down. You would really be better off to short list a bunch, keep abreast of reviews, and start narrowing down much closer to the date.

Which Hotel To Choose?

Stewie - How can we take you seriously, you%26#39;ve been asking about Hoi An hotels now for 7 months!

Hi,

Well I am serious and I will be booking the hotels soon , so if you want to help please do , if not don%26#39;t bother.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Hi Stewie,

It seems Vietnam is a lot different to booking hotels way in advance like Thailand - I have discovered this for our trip in April - prices for the hotels don%26#39;t seem to be released until a lot closer to the date of arrival. What you may like now, could be dated by the time you arrive.

When I am in HoiAn, I plan to have a look at some of the places - in case I want to come back, so I will let you know my thoughts.

June weather is supposed to be really hot in HoiAn, so you may like to look at staying near the beach as well.

The Sailing Club are building a new resort at HoiAn -on the beach - so I plan to have a look at that as well when we are there.

Cheers,

Sandy

Hi,

You can probably consider Hai Au Hotel if the other places are not available. I stayed there during my visit to Hoi An in Jan 2009. 20 USD for a single standard room inclusive of buffet breakfast.

The staff are friendly, helpful and speaks English fairly well.

However, please note that booking one day tour with the hotel is a bit more expensive compare to Sinh Cafe.

Hi Stewie

We are staying at the Life Resort in March will send you some feedback as soon as we get home.

Hope you are going to write a report on Vietnam thought your Phuket ones were fantastic.

Sue

Hi Sue and Sandy,

Thank you both for the positive replies and appreciate your help in checking out the hotels for me when you are there.

I will certainly write a trip report on Vietnam and also Laos as there doesn%26#39;t seem to be a lot on their forums unlike the Thailand Forums.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Hi Stewie

It will be really hot in June so make sure that wherever you stay that the aircon is good or a great pool. We did all out sightseeing in the morning and then adjourned to the pool or the beach in the afternoon.

Cua Dai looks good and I did not actually see it when we were there last June but I did see Ancient House and it is on the road out to the beach. That was going to be our original choice but then went to Than Xuan but would definately give that a wide berth. Good location but too hot to sleep at night - aircon not working properly and the pool was not that inviting. Lovely staff though.

Good luck with your homework and you will enjoy Hoi An, it is a sensational place.

Can I jump on here and get a response about the hotels/resorts in Hoi An when everyone returns also.

I see wotif.com has some great prices for last minute deals over there also.

Thanks

Niec

I am not over there until Sept early though

Hi SteviePerth,

I got many good feedback from our custumbers about Cua Dai hotel. I think you should check. Life resort is also good place worth to stay.

Cheers,

Happyman
