Visa upon Arrival -- really need help!!

I used one of the Visa upon Arrival services I saw on TA. Three of my friends received their approval letters without incident. My name is mispelled. As an example, correct spelling is ';Jane Jill Doe'; but letter has ';Jane Mill Doe (Smith Doe)';. The company whited out the (Smith Doe) part and and retyped Mill to be Jill, so the letter looks fine. My DOB and passport number match. Company doesn%26#39;t want to redo another app to get it right -- such a pain, since I did pay a $25 service fee.

My question is will my name on the letter be cross-referenced with a list generated by the Immigration Dept at the airport? If so, they won%26#39;t match. Can someone who has done visa upon arrival let me know if they just match the letter to my passport or whether they check it against their own list.

Thanks!! Sorry to be a worrier, but I%26#39;m also going to Cambodia and don%26#39;t want any delays.

Visa upon Arrival -- really need help!!

since when can you use white out on a legal document and not face trouble?

Id be getting back to that company to sort it out pronto ----you paid for the visa and they have a duty of care to check documents before they take them away from embassy or whoever issued them to ensure all is correct

The white out will be a big problem. Listen, You live in the bay area where the vietnam consolite office is located. Go there and see what changes they will make for you. And if you have to buy another visa from them its is to bad but at least when you arrive inside vietnam there will not be any problems and sent back. The vietnamese officials are so strict in details! Like if your in country flights e-tickets or tickets do not perfectly match your passport...You will be buying another ticket! Trust me. It happened to me.

Immigration Officers have their own list and they will check your approval letter for sure. It is very bad if immigration officers find a mistake on your letter. You should ask your TA make a new one for you.

I think it will be fine with your letter as the company is responsible for the change in your letter. Or you can directly ask them whether they faxed to the Immigration Dept again about the change. Or you can visit this website for further information: http://www.vietnam-visa.com/

Good luck!

Name mistype happened all the time. Immigration in VN do not care about your name (as long as they are close). They will match your passport number and birth date together and issue you a Visa at airport. Don%26#39;t worry , be happy.

and if the posters above are wrong about customs not noticing, who will be at airport doing the explaining and paying for it?

sorry I just dont think its worth risking- youve picked up the error in time- get it fixed!!!!

Your possibility to have an easy pass is only 5% in this case, as someone say you might get an easy-going immigration officer. Who know?? Get it fixed now. Good luck!
