Hanoi to Ninh Binh

Hi! I%26#39;ll be in Hanoi in june, and i%26#39;m wondering if it%26#39;s possible to get from the city to Ninh Binh early in the morning. The train times i%26#39;ve seen on the Re-unification express line it only seems to be the late afternoon trains that stop at Ninh Binh. Are there local trains in the morning?

I%26#39;m hoping to hire a bicycle and spend 1 day cyling round the surrounding areas to see the karsts at Tam Coc. I don%26#39;t want to spend the night in Ninh Binh, i%26#39;m only for a day trip.

I have tried to look on the link to the vietnamese railway and it can%26#39;t be opened - looking at the vietnamese version the train times look similar to what you get on my original link!

I think you may need to look at going down the night before and getting an early start that way. By all accounts it is good to get their early and miss the crowds on the organised tours.

We will be there in July but plan to spend a couple of days. cheers

Certainly don%26#39;t miss Ninh Binh if you can help it. We travelled down by bus late in the evening and train back about 6pm 2 nights later.

Perhaps that might be an option for you with just the one night there.

Alternatively there are day tours that run down to Ninh Binh for the day.

There is a day tour from Hanoi to Ninh Binh,pick up from Hotel early in the morning at Hanoi and return to Hanoi late in the evening.

All for(%26lt;US20),walk into any travel at Hanoi to enquire.

Travel time from Hanoi to Ninh Binh takes around 2 hours,inclusive of Lunch,Tam Coc,see the karst,row boat ride.
